Basketball Recap: Vinemont Comes Up Short

Vinemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-37 loss at the hands of the Brewer Patriots. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.

Brewer was led to victory by Cam Ballinger and Cason Oden. Ballinger went 10 for 15 on his way to 23 points, while Oden went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Ballinger a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dunn, who posted four points.

Vinemont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Brewer, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Vinemont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Bernard Prep at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brewer, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
