Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hope Christian Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Master's Hand Christian Warriors 66-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hope Christian Academy has suffered since December 20, 2024.

Master's Hand Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braedon Canuteson, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 12 points along with seven boards and three steals. Those 86% shooting accuracy gave Canuteson a new career-high. Jack Carey was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Hope Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Master's Hand Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Hope Christian Academy will square off against Southern Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Master's Hand Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-38 win against Tabernacle on the 15th.
