Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Ada Bulldogs
The Ridgemont Golden Gophers on the road again on Monday and play against the Ada Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Ridgemont came up short against Ridgedale and fell 43-32. Ridgemont has not had much luck with Ridgedale recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite their loss, Ridgemont saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anna Ramsey, who scored 14 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Ruth Eckstein was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.
Ada suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Jefferson, falling 52-20. While losing is never fun, Ada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while Jefferson is ranked 79th).
Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Ada, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Ridgemont was dealt a bruising 55-19 defeat at the hands of Ada when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ridgemont was down 39-9.
