Baseball Recap: Overfelt Has No Trouble Against Yerba Buena

Overfelt came out on top against Yerba Buena on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Royals were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Aztec Warriors. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

HUGO JERONIMO was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. He has become a key player for Overfelt: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-11 otherwise. JERONIMO was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Overfelt got a massive performance out of BRANDON GONZALEZ, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. GONZALEZ has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 15 times he's played. ALFREDO GALLEGOS MEDINA was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Overfelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Overfelt's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Yerba Buena, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Overfelt nor the Aztec Warriors have any future games scheduled.
