Volleyball Recap: Taylor Thomas and Olivia Van Eik Secure Win for Fallbrook

Fallbrook won the last time they faced San Pasqual and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors blew past the Golden Eagles 3-0. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Fallbrook was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-21.

Leading Fallbrook to victory were Olivia Van Eik and Taylor Thomas. Van Eik had 14 digs and two assists, while Thomas hit 50% for 16 kills and 12 digs and one assist. The last time Thomas' hitting percentage was this high was over her last seven matches.

Fallbrook was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

San Pasqual's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Talia Travassos, who had six digs and three aces, and Carianne Blodgett, who had 13 digs.

Fallbrook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for San Pasqual, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
