Basketball Game Preview: Whale Branch Warriors vs. Edisto Cougars

The Whale Branch Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Edisto Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whale Branch will be strutting in after a win while Edisto will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Whale Branch strolled past Bridges Prep with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Whale Branch can attribute much of their success to Harmony Prejean, who went 9 of 13 en route to 30 points and seven steals, and Larmore Pryor, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and four steals. Prejean is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Edisto played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Hampton County, falling 66-11. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now lost eight in a row.

Whale Branch pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Edisto, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
