Basketball Game Preview: DMLK Panthers vs. Denver South Ravens

The DMLK Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Denver South Ravens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for DMLK and eight for Denver South.

DMLK lost 48-24 to Non Varsity Opponent on Friday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Savannah Bland, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it was a classic North v. South duel when Denver South duked it out with Northfield on Wednesday. Denver South fell 73-62 to Northfield. The game was a 33-33 toss-up at halftime, but the Ravens couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Denver South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Gehring scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Gehring. The team also got some help courtesy of Abriella Garcia, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points and three steals.

Denver South's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for DMLK, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
