Baseball Recap: Goshen Eagles vs. Pike County Bulldogs

Goshen won the last time they faced Pike County and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Goshen Eagles' way against the Pike County Bulldogs as the Goshen Eagles made off with a 12-4 win. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Grant Taylor was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Layton Burgans looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler McLendon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
