Baseball Game Preview: Rattan Rams vs. Plainview Indians

The Rattan Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Plainview Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rattan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Plainview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Rattan fell victim to Lone Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. The loss was the Rams' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Plainview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Henry Harlow made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Plainview let Brylan Anderson and Cooper Flowers run wild. Anderson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Flowers went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Flowers has posted over his last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Devyn Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rattan fell to 10-1. As for Plainview, their record is now 17-12.
