There's no place like home for Rootstown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over the Mogadore Wildcats on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rovers have posted since February 9, 2024.

Rootstown's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-17. As for Mogadore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Rootstown will square off against Lake Center Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Mogadore, they and Ellet will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Ellet will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mogadore surely won't give up without a fight.
