Recap: Dixie County Bears vs. Trenton Tigers
It was a good run, but the Dixie County Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Trenton 59-26. Dixie County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Trenton found their leader in underclassman Kayley Sloan, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Brianna Karanja was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Dixie County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Trenton, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Dixie County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trenton will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Hawthorne at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hawthorne is ranked 107th, while Trenton is ranked 115th).
