Basketball Game Preview: Streamwood Sabres vs. Elgin Maroons

For the first time this season, Streamwood will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elgin Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Streamwood had to suffer through a 69-37 loss at the hands of Leyden.

Streamwood's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kacper Andrusiewicz, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Meanwhile, Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Maine East 67-39.

Streamwood now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Streamwood against Elgin in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 51-21 win. Do the Sabres have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maroons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
