Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Timberview Wolves vs. Centennial Spartans

Mansfield Timberview is 9-1 against Centennial since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mansfield Timberview Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Centennial Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mansfield Timberview is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Seguin with a sharp 62-41 win. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Cougars are ranked 793rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mansfield Timberview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dani Milliner, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 23 points and three steals. Milliner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Viola Tadja, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Mansfield Timberview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Centennial earned a 50-38 victory over Burleson on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Centennial is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Mansfield Timberview, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.
