Baseball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Incline

Sierra Lutheran lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Incline, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Falcons put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 15-5 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the match before.

Grayson Ricks made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Sierra Lutheran is 5-0-1 when Ricks posts two or more runs, but 1-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Sierra Lutheran got a massive performance out of Matt Fahey, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Fahey has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Ramirez, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.

Sierra Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They are undefeated (5-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sierra Lutheran's record is now 6-14-1. As for Incline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sierra Lutheran beat Incline by a score of 13-11 later that day.
