It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Town had no problem doing just that on Monday. They escaped with a win against the Carver A&T Wildcats by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Town.

Despite the loss, Carver A&T still got an impressive performance from Elisah Guity, who made all 7 shots she took racking up 20 points. Carver A&T is 4-1 when Guity posts 20 or more points, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Laila Brandon, who posted eight points.

New Town's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Carver A&T, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

New Town has already played their next contest, a 31-27 defeat against Hereford on the 5th. Carver A&T does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
