Softball Recap: Avoca Central's Undefeated Season over After 14 Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Avoca Central challenged Genesee Valley on Sunday. The Tigers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Avoca Central fell to 13-1. As for Genesee Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Avoca Central and Genesee Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Hammondsport at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (43 vs. 626). Meanwhile, Genesee Valley (ranked 203rd) will meet Canisteo-Greenwood (ranked 413th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
