Basketball Recap: Linden Comes Up Short

If Linden was feeling good fresh off their 61-41 takedown of Franklin last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Linden Lions were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 56-55 to the River Islands Riptide. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Riptide 13-9 in the first quarter.

Charles Mapanao had an outrageously good game for River Islands as he posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Idrees ElFarra, who had 11 points.

Linden moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for River Islands, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Linden has already played their next match, a 67-60 victory against Big Valley Christian on the 10th. As for River Islands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-54 defeat against Ripon on the 10th.
