Volleyball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Celtics vs. Sandburg Eagles

Providence Catholic hasn't had much luck against Sandburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Celtics will square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Providence Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat St. Laurence and fell 2-1.

Providence Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Sandburg waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Knights.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Sandburg got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-21.

Providence Catholic's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-19. As for Sandburg, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-4.
