Softball Recap: Lansingburgh Starts Season with Win at Home

Lansingburgh took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the La Salle Institute Cadets. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won four contests in a row dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Kyleigh Wilmott, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Enous, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lansingburgh will welcome Berlin/New Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for La Salle Institute, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mohonasen at 4:15 p.m. This will be the Cadets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
