Basketball Recap: West Piles Up the Points Against Harmony School of Innovation

A well-balanced attack led West over Harmony School of Innovation in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the West Trojans blew Harmony School of Innovation out of the water with a 76-14 final score. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Harmony School of Innovation are ranked 1450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Poteet, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Poteet has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Easton Rinewalt, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals.

West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for West, bringing their record for this year to 18-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Harmony School of Innovation, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

West will welcome Whitney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Whitney likes a good challenge. As for Harmony School of Innovation, they will head out on the road to square off against Clifton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clifton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
