Basketball Game Preview: Brentwood Spartans vs. Leechburg Blue Devils

The Brentwood Spartans will head out to challenge the Leechburg Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leechburg took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Brentwood, who comes in off a win.

Brentwood is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Western Beaver last Friday. Brentwood blew past Western Beaver 68-47. That looming 68-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Meanwhile, Leechburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-50 loss to Eden Christian Academy.

Brentwood will need focus on slowing down Jake Cummings, one of several Leechburg players who made an impact when they last played. He posted six points in addition to 16 rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Chase Henry, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points.

Leechburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Brentwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
