Softball Recap: Blue Island Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Blue Island Eisenhower had lost four straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 7-12 to make it five. They lost 9-0 to the Bloom Blazing Trojan. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Bloom, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The result was nothing new for the Blazing Trojan, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Bloom's part, they let Esmeralda Gomez and Natalia Banuelos run wild. Gomez went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Banuelos went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Blue Island Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-2 loss against Oak Lawn on the 28th. As for Bloom, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Kankakee on the 28th.
