Preview: Victoria Knights vs. LaCrosse Leopards
The Victoria Knights will head out on the road to take on the LaCrosse Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Victoria lost to Ellis at home by a decisive 56-41 margin. Victoria has struggled against Ellis recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Averi Windholz, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Emma Dinkel was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
LaCrosse suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by St. John 56-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points LaCrosse has scored all season.
Victoria's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for LaCrosse, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Victoria didn't have too much breathing room in their match against LaCrosse in their previous meeting on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 38-33 win. Will Victoria repeat their success, or does LaCrosse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
