Basketball Recap: Marcus Tapia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Burlingame over El Camino

Burlingame was the 42-41 winner over El Camino when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Burlingame Panthers fell 49-42 to the El Camino Colts on Monday.

Burlingame lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marcus Tapia, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Tapia a new career-high in rebounds. Payton Fong Heady was another key player, putting up eight points.

Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for El Camino, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Burlingame wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-60 victory against Piedmont Hills on the 2nd. As for El Camino, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-43 win against Jefferson on the 4th.
