Baseball Recap: Louis E. Dieruff Comes Up Short

Louis E. Dieruff extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 12-2 to the Pleasant Valley Bears. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Louis E. Dieruff saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madden LeCause, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were LeCause's first of the season.

As for Pleasant Valley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Pleasant Valley's side, Ty Borger spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braydon Green, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Loch, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Louis E. Dieruff will head out to square off against Freedom at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Parkland at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
