Softball Recap: Palm Desert Takes a Loss

After flying high against Xavier Prep last Thursday, Palm Desert came back down to earth. The Aztecs fell just short of the Rancho Mirage Rattlers by a score of 19-18 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rattlers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-4 loss last Wednesday.

Gwyneth Kitagawa led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Aeverie Auen, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Palm Desert's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Rancho Mirage, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

As of now, neither Palm Desert nor the Rattlers have any future games scheduled.
