Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Allison Collard and Avery Gardener Lead Webb City to Victory

There's no place like home for Webb City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Waynesville Tigers on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12, 25-16.

Webb City was led to victory by Avery Gardener and Allison Collard. Gardener had 15 digs and three assists, while Collard had six aces. Those six aces gave Collard a new career-high. Kaelyn Maxwell also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Webb City was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Webb City's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Waynesville, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Webb City will head out to take on Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waynesville, they will face off against Republic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
