League recap: Hayden stuns Emporia in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hayden, who took down 30th ranked Emporia, 36-19.

Junction City/St. Xavier was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in Centennial. The Bluejays vanquished Highland Park 56-0 earlier in the week.

Shawnee Heights's Taymon Grabauskas and Colt Kennedy led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Grabauskas has thrown for 914 yards this season, while Kennedy has 22 catches for 352 yards. Michael Singer from Washburn Rural leads the league in rushing with 355 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Topeka takes on the Spartans. As it stands, the Trojans are in first, while Emporia is in fifth.

Adding to the longest winning streak in Centennial this week, Topeka beat Seaman 42-24. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
