The Payton College Prep Grizzlies will face off against the IC Catholic Prep Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Payton College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Hancock, taking the game 8-3.

Jacqueline Madda was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Lara, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa McGuire, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, IC Catholic Prep waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 9-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Like Payton College Prep, IC Catholic Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelynn Dinino. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Dinino was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sofia Bucaro was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Lexi Russ, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
IC Catholic Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
IC Catholic Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Payton College Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
