Basketball Game Preview: Brunswick Pirates vs. Beach Bulldogs

The Brunswick Pirates will face off against the Beach Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brunswick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.1 points per game this season.

Brunswick saw some tournament action on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 72-43 win over Orange Park. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Martin Davis was her usual excellent self, putting up 14 points along with seven boards and five assists. Davis is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lauryn Walker was another key player, posting ten points.

Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Beach's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a 72-28 loss at the hands of Bradwell Institute. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-17.

Brunswick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.6 points. As for Beach, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Brunswick strolled past Beach in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 60-42. Does Brunswick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
