Preview: Rockwood Tigers vs. Coalfield Yellow Jackets
Rockwood is 9-1 against Coalfield since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Rockwood Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Coalfield Yellow Jackets at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Rockwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harriman.
Ty'varion Pryor put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points. He scored a full 46.3% of Rockwood's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Norton, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Coalfield, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They fell just short of Wartburg Central by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rockwood's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Coalfield, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Rockwood strolled past Coalfield when the teams last played on December 1st by a score of 55-40. Does Rockwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coalfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
