Softball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 17-4 to the Portales Rams. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-1 defeat last Wednesday.

Clovis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Renteria, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Andrea Chavez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Clovis' loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Portales, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Portales beat Clovis by a score of 15-0 later that day.
