Baseball Recap: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Sneads Pirates
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enterprise, Liberty County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Sneads Pirates. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Liberty County got a great performance from Jason Walker as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Furthermore, Walker didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Liberty County's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sy Shiver, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Shiver's first of the season.
