Preview: Dayton Christian WARRIORS vs. Legacy Christian Academy Knights
Dayton Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Legacy Christian Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Dayton Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Franklin Monroe. While losing is never fun, Dayton Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Franklin Monroe is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Miami Valley with a 51-45 win.
Jacob Thompson and Parker Burke were among the main playmakers for Legacy Christian Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Burke's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was David Cancino, who scored four points.
Dayton Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Dayton Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Legacy Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February, winning 69-59. Will Dayton Christian repeat their success, or does Legacy Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
