Baseball Recap: Haldane Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Haldane and The Leffell School had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hunter Erickson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Lanza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Haldane's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for The Leffell School, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Haldane will face off against Dobbs Ferry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Leffell School, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tuckahoe at 4:30 p.m. on the 29th.
