Soccer Recap: Seward Takes a Loss

Seward entered their contest against Lexington on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bluejays came up short against the Minutemen, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Seward can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Lexington are ranked eighth).

Seward's goal came courtesy of Kenix Leyva, who's now up to seven this season.

Seward's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Lexington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Seward has already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Crete on the 21st. As for Lexington, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Schuyler on the 21st.
