Baseball Recap: Pacific Beats St. James for Their Fifth Straight Win

Pacific had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the St. James Tigers with a sharp 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly ten runs.

Bennett Parker tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gavin Haddox was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Kossuth, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pacific always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. James only posted an OBP of .250.

Pacific's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. James, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pacific will host St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. James, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Salem at 4:30 p.m.
