Softball Recap: Shenandoah Comes Up Short

After flying high against Red Oak on Tuesday, Shenandoah came back down to earth. The Mustangs and Fillies came up short against the Fremont-Mills Knights on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The Mustangs and Fillies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Shenandoah has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Fremont-Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Shenandoah will take on Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs and Fillies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fremont-Mills, they will be playing at home against Sidney at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
