Mater Dei Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Otay Ranch proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders, sneaking past 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in September.

Otay Ranch was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-15, 23-25, 27-25, 17-15.

Otay Ranch found their leader in sophomore Sienna Carter, who had 17 digs and two aces.

Otay Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their defeat ended a 12-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-10.
