Volleyball Recap: Nantucket Takes a Loss

Nantucket was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Abington Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Viktoria Bozhkova (C) paced Nantucket's offense, picking up three kills. Bozhkova (C) got some help from Emanuelly Coelho and her five assists. Bozhkova (C) also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Bessie Aguilar, each putting up three.

Nantucket's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Abington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Nantucket has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Monomoy on the 29th. As for Abington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Norwell on the 29th.
