Baseball Game Preview: Dove Creek Bulldogs vs. Sargent Farmers

The Dove Creek Bulldogs will square off against the Sargent Farmers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Dove Creek will be strutting in after a win while Sargent will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Dove Creek earned a 5-1 victory over Nucla. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Sheldon Gardner made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cael Beanland was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Trevan Ivie was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Sargent's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 12-3 to Buena Vista.

Dove Creek's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Sargent, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
