Baseball Recap: Rangeview Comes Up Short

Rangeview entered their match against Alameda on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders came up short against the Pirates, falling 14-5. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Ryan Luevanos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Rangeview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Rene Castillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rangeview's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Alameda, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.

Coincidentally, Rangeview and Alameda will both be playing Montbello the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Pirates will host them at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
