Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Westlake). They blew past the Blind Brook Trojans 18-2 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the  game before.
Westlake got a great performance from  Gianluca Persampieri as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Keith Haecker and  Marcus Jackette did most of the damage at the plate:  Haecker  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs, while  Jackette  got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and two  doubles. That's the most  doubles  Jackette has posted since back in April of 2024.  Mark Mastracchio also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Westlake was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blind Brook only posted a  batting average of  .158.
The  win  got Westlake back to even at 3-3. As for Blind Brook, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westlake will take on Walter Panas at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blind Brook, they will square off against Hastings at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
