Volleyball Recap: Astoria Fishermen vs. Burns Hilanders
After flying high against St. Helens last Thursday, Astoria came back down to earth. The Astoria Fishermen fell just short of the Burns Hilanders by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.
Burns was led to victory by Bailey Temple and Chloe Rothwell. Temple had 13 digs and two aces, while Rothwell had six digs and 15 assists. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Rothwell now posted nine or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season.
Astoria's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Burns, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3-2.
Astoria will take on Ilwaco at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burns, they will host Vale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burns is facing Vale at the right time seeing as Vale is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
