Basketball Recap: Richardson's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Richardson won the last time they faced MacArthur and things went their way on Friday too. The Richardson Eagles managed a 55-51 victory over the MacArthur Cardinals. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Cardinals are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richardson's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for MacArthur, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Richardson will host Berkner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 games -- so hopefully Richardson likes a good challenge. As for MacArthur, they will venture away from home to take on Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
