Softball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Vikings. The Thunderbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 10-5.

Kennedy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paulette Race, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Race a new career-high. Analia Samano was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Kennedy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West beat Kennedy by a score of 3-0 on Friday.
