Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Christian Comes Up Short

Santa Fe Christian lost against El Camino back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5.

Santa Fe Christian got a good showing from Kylan Brunn, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brunn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Santa Fe Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Roche, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Jackson Noonan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Santa Fe Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for El Camino, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Santa Fe Christian will host La Jolla Country Day at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Torreys' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for El Camino, they will head out on the road to square off against Sage Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.5, the Bobcats 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
