Softball Game Preview: Warren East Raiders vs. Central Hardin Bruins

The Warren East Raiders will square off against the Central Hardin Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Warren East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Warren East blew Cumberland County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Cumberland County got their revenge. The Raiders fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Lydia Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Central Hardin entered their tilt with Nelson County on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Cardinals.

Central Hardin pushed their record up to 23-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-11 record this season.
