Football Recap: Brother Rice Extends Winning Streak to Four

Loyola Academy came into Friday's game looking for another win against Brother Rice, but CJ Gray wouldn't allow it. The Crusaders blew past the Ramblers 28-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Gray, who rushed for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 212 yards and two TDs while completing 82.6% of his passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

The win keeps Brother Rice at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.8 points on average this season. As for Loyola Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Brother Rice and Loyola Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Crusaders will challenge St. Patrick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 126). Meanwhile, Loyola Academy (ranked sixth) will meet DePaul College Prep (ranked 102nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
