Softball Game Preview: Tamaqua Blue Raiders vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will face off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tamaqua 3, Tri-Valley 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Tri-Valley will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Tamaqua extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against Blue Mountain. That's two games straight that the Blue Raiders have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Leah Crowley, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolbe Robb, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.4 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to Williams Valley. The game marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Tri-Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Tamaqua, their win bumped their record up to 10-5-1.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Tamaqua has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
